The American Board of Medicine (ABRM)

The American Board of Medicine (ABRM) represents the authority of the evolving _ of Regenerative Medicine. In with the American Society Regenerative Medicine (ASRM), ABRM to develop Graduate Medical _ programs and set education certification standards. As such, is not affiliated or a of the American Board Medical Specialties (ABMS).

The ABRM Board Certification program designed to evaluate knowledge in the field of Medicine with the goal improved patient care. Successful &; be granted Diplomat status the American Board of Medicine (DABRM). The ABRM Certification process establishes didactic and clinical science competency in field of Regenerative Medicine. does not evaluate clinical competency define a physician's scope practice within the specialty Regenerative Medicine.

All ABRM board-certified physicians comply with the ASRM Code of Ethics in Regenerative Medicine maintain certification. As of 2018 examination cycle, ABRM certification is time-limited to 5 years. Recertification requires successful of the ABRM written examination.

ABRM is currently only offering board certification physicians practicing Musculoskeletal or / Regenerative Medicine in the States  in compliance with local, state federal guidelines (FDA). ABRM offer certification in other and surgical specialties for international through our global affiliates.

As of the July 2024&; examination cycle, a requirement oral board examination will be added the ABRM written examination for U.S. physicians.

ABRM Diplomats may also a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Orthopedic Medicine. Additional CAQ's are through ABRM international affiliates.

ABRM Diplomats may apply Fellow Status after 2 years active practice in Regenerative .

Requirements for Physician Eligibility (_._. Applicants)*

1. Successful graduation from U.S. allopathic (M.D.) or osteopathic (_._.) medical school

2. Completion of ACGME/AOA post-graduate residency training (minimum 3 years required)

3. Board Certification by / approved Specialty Board

4. Minimum 1 Year in the practice of Regenerative Medicine.                                                                                                                   Physicians must submit _ case log** of consultations procedures pertinent to Regenerative                                                                 performed during 1 year period prior to application. The case log document experience with a of 20 procedures involving and Stem Cell p0rocedures.

5. Minimum of 10% practice dedicated to Regenerative Medicine

6. Successful review of of practice, training and ethics ABRM Board of Directors (, Scope of RM experience, website )

7. Applicant must be good standing with all and federal licensing agencies, prior or current restrictions.

8. All ABRM board physicians must attend the ABRM Board Certification Review prior to the written examination.

9. All ABRM board-eligible must abide by the Code of Ethics in Medicine to obtain and ABRM certification. Failure to by the AARM Code Ethics may lead to of ABRM certification.

**Case log requirements include 20 Regenerative Medicine consultations and performed over the previous 12 months including growth factor cell based treatments. All submissions must be compliant FDA regulations (21CFR1271).                                                                                                                        


Requirements for physician Eligibility ( Applicants)*

1. Successful graduation from medical school in the country

2. Completion of post-graduate education sanctioned by the country's official medical education body (minimum 3 years )

3. Completion of specialty examination and licensing process ( applicable)

4. Minimum 1 Year in the practice of Medicine. Physicians must submit a log** of consultations and pertinent to Regenerative Medicine _ during the 1 year period to the application. Log be submitted in English.

5. Minimum of 10% practice dedicated to Regenerative

6. Successful review of , training and scope of review by ABRM Board Directors  (CV, Scope of RM experience, review)

7. Current AABRM Membership good standing

8. Applicant in good with the country's local, and federal health care

9. All ABRM board physicians must attend the ABRM Board Certification Review prior to the written examination.

Requirements for scientist eligibility (_._. and international)

1. Successful graduation from science-related Ph.D. program

2. Minimum of 1 experience in the field Regenerative Medicine Research of least 50% of research _ to Regenerative Medicine

3. Successful review of by the ABRM Board Directors*

Requirements for Scientist certification (_._. and international)

1. All ABRM board scientists must attend the ABRM Board Certification Review prior to the written examination.

2. Successful completion of ABRM written examination (min. 70% passing score) 

*Diploma is issued as 'Diplomat the American Board of Medicine - Regenerative Sciences'


 

Recertification Requirements

Starting in 2018, the Board Certification in Regenerative is time-limited to 5 years . In order to an active Board Certification, board-certified members are required recertify. Recertification requires a score on the ABRM re-certification examination. ABRM Diplomates maintain active membership in in order to maintain certification.


Failure to Pass Written

Examinees have three (3) opportunities to pass the or examination. Failure to on the third attempt the applicant ineligible to the ABRM examination process a minimum of 1 (one) year .
